School Board will meet this Monday


The Switzerland County School Board of Trustees will hold its regular monthly meeting this Monday, April 17th. The meeting will be held at the Administration Building on West Main Street in Vevay, and will begin at 6 p.m.

The meeting will include presentations by SSU; Ivy Tech; Celebrating Success; and also from the BPA chapter.

Reports will be given by board committees; and Superintendent Mike Jones will give a legislative update.

In New Business, the school board will hear a first reading of the student/parent handbook for the middle school; consider adoption of textbooks for math and science for grades kindergarten through sixth grade; and will also consider a request for a bus use extension.

In Personnel: the board will consider extra curricular resignations and recommendations; and also employment resignations and recommendations.

The board will hear overnight staff professional development leaves and field trips; use of school facilities requests; announcements by Superintendent Jones; and board members will also have the chance to make comments. There will also be a time for public comments.

The meeting is open to the public.
