The Switzerland County School Board will hold its regular monthly meeting this Monday night, July 21st.
The meetings will begin with an executive session at 4 p.m. which is closed to the public. Indiana State Law requires that public entities cite the specific code for the reason to have a closed door meeting.
For Monday’s meeting, the school board is citing three different codes; IC 5-14-1.5-6.1(b)(5): “To receive information about and interview prospective employees”; and IC 5-14-1.5-6.1(b)(3): “For discussion of the assessment, design, and implementation of school safety and security measures, plans, and systems.”
The public meeting will begin at 5 p.m.
Items on the agenda include:
– In Old Business: recognition of retired employees; a review and discussion of secure entrance plans at the high school; and approval of the Wellness Policy.
– In New Business: the board will award bids for bread, milk, fuel, trash pickup and snow removal for the coming school year; hear a presentation on the Solar Technology Grant Award by Barry Lauber; hear the first reading of the student transfer policy; and approve the updated bus driver handbook.
– In Personnel: the board will consider an employee resignation; consider 2014-2015 employment recommendations, including the extra curricular activities list.
– There will also be professional leave requests; use of facilities requests; announcements and reports by the superintendent; and reports and comments from members of the school board.
