The Switzerland County School Board will hold its regular monthly meeting this Monday, February 20th.
The board will meet in executive session, which is closed to the public, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Under Indiana law, public entities must cite the specific state code that allows the closed door meeting. For Monday, the school board is citing IC 5-14-1.5-6.1(b)(7): “For discussion of records classified as confidential by state or federal statute.”
The public meeting will begin at 6 p.m.; and items on the agenda include:
– In Old Business: a discussion of the NEOLA Policy Manual.
– In New Business: the board will hear the first reading of the Jefferson-Craig Elementary Parent/Student handbook for the 2017-2018 school year; will discuss early graduates; and also discuss the possibility of a new high school business course.
– In Personnel: the board will hear employee resignations; and will also consider employment recommendations.
– There will also be time for staff development and field trip requests; use of school facilities requests; public comments; and also announcements by the superintendent and comments by board members.
Both meetings will take place at the administration office on West Main Street.
