The Switzerland County School Board continues to move forward in its efforts to hire a new superintendent of schools, and that process will continue this Monday night with two meetings.

The school board will hold an executive session this Monday night, May 14th, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Administration Building on West Main Street in Vevay. Per Indiana law, a public entity that wishes to hold a closed door meeting must cite the specific Indiana code that allows such a meeting. For Monday night, the school board is citing Indiana Code 5-14-1.5-6.1(b)(5): “To receive information about and interview prospective employees.”

At 6 p.m. on Monday night, the school board will then hold a special, open working session.

The agenda for that meeting says that the school board will hold an open discussion centering on superintendent contract terms.

This meeting is open for members of the community observe; but the public doesn’t necessarily have the opportunity to participate in the meeting.
