With offices filled and committees appointed, the next item of business for the school board was holding its annual Board of Finance meeting.

Per policy, the President and the Secretary of the school board serve as the officers of the Board of Finance; and at Monday’s meeting the board reviewed the corporation’s investment policy; reviewed its investment report; approved depositories for the safe holding of corporation funds; and heard a report of outstanding checks.

Once the Board of Finance meeting was closed, the school board resumed its regular meeting; and officially approved a ‘Project Lead the Way’ grant agreement for the high school program; approved professional leave requests; and also officially accepted the resignation from the school board of Tammy Hayes, who has served for the past two years representing Pleasant Township.

Superintendent Mike Jones announced that the school board will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, January 21st to interview candidates who have applied to fill the vacancy on the board; and he expects that the board will name a new representative from Pleasant Township at its meeting on January 26th, which will begin at 5 p.m.
