The Switzerland County School Board will hold its regular monthly meeting this Monday evening, October 15th. The meeting will be held at the corporation’s administrative offices on Seminary Street.
The school board will hold an executive session beginning at 5:30 p.m. This meeting is closed to the public. Under Indiana law, the school board has announced that it will hold the executive session under Indiana Codes 5-14-1.5-6.1(b)(6)(A) and 5-14-1.5-6.1(b)(6)(B): “…to receive information concerning the individual’s alleged misconduct; and (B) to discuss, before determination, the individual’s status as an employee, a student, or an independent contractor who is (i) a physician; or (ii) a school bus driver.”
The regular meeting will begin at 7 p.m.; and items on the agenda include under new business: the recognition of “Celebrating Success” students; a presentation by Dr. Fred Sagester from the Indiana Virtual Academy of Versailles; a presentation by Brad Street of the Southeastern Career Center; requests to the endowment corporation; a request to declare kitchen equipment as surplus; and a request to transfer public records to the historical society.
In personnel, the board will consider the resignation of Brooke Levell; consider Megan Lohide as the sixth grade cheerleader sponsor and Steve Clark as the sixth grade boys basketball coach.
There will be professional leave and field trip requests; use of facilities requests; a time for public comments; and a time for comments by the board members and a report by the superintendent.
