The Switzerland County School Board will hold its regular monthly meeting this Monday, August 15th. The meeting will be held at the School Administration offices on West Main Street.
The school board will hold an executive session, which is closed to the public, beginning at 5 p.m. In accordance with Indiana law, public entities must cite the special code that allows the closed meeting. For Monday, the board is citing three Indiana Codes: IC 5-14-1.5-6.1(b)(2)(A): “Initiation of litigation or litigation that is either pending or has been threatened specifically in writing. As used in this clause, “litigation” includes any judicial action or administrative law proceeding under federal or state law”; IC 5-14-1.5-6.1(b)(6)(A) and (B): “With respect to any individual over whom the governing body has jurisdiction: (A) to receive information concerning the individual’s alleged misconduct; and (B) to discuss, before a determination, the individual’s status as an employee, a student, or an independent contractor who is: (i) a physician; or (ii) a school bus driver.”
The public, open portion of the school board meeting is expected to begin at 6 p.m..
Items on the agenda include:
– 2016-2017 payroll adjustments for specific employees; an affiliation agreement concerning placement of IU Southeast students; the Southeastern Career Center MOU; consideration of the NEOLA Electronic Publishing Service for license agreement; and also a discussion of the 2016-2017 Master Contract for Teachers.
– In personnel: the board will hear employee resignations; will consider employment recommendations; will consider ECA position recommendations; and other business as brought before the board.
– There will be a time for public comments; for announcements by Superintendent Mike Jones; and comments by members of the school board.
