School Board filings slow

A week into the filing period for candidates wanting to run for seats on the Switzerland County School Board this November, activity is slow with only two incumbents having filed.

A week into the filing period for candidates wanting to run for seats on the Switzerland County School Board this November, activity is slow with only two incumbents having filed.
Three of the board’s seven seats will be up for election on November 6th, with the winners beginning four year terms on January 1st, 2019.
The three seats represent Craig Township; Posey Township; and Jefferson Township excluding the town of Vevay. Greg Bosaw currently holds the Craig Township seat; Jill Cord holds the Jefferson Township seat; and Joe Bennett holds the Posey Township seat.
As of Wednesday morning, only Cord and Bennett had filed for reelection.
Candidates have until noon on Friday, August 24th to file. Paperwork may be picked up in the Switzerland County Clerk’s Office. Candidates who have second thoughts and decide to withdraw from the election may do so up until noon on Monday, August 27th.
