RS competes at L’burg; SDIT postponed to May 1


The Rising Sun Track team participated in a quad meet at Lawrenceburg on Tuesday, April 18th.

Lawrenceburg won the boys meet with 102 followed by Switzerland County 45 South Ripley 39 and Rising Sun 38.

The top finishers for Rising Sun included:

Trevor Levi won the 1600m run (4:57), 800m run (2:13) and 3200m run (11:00)

Derrick Eldridge finished second in shot put (42’3.25″) and discus (120’7″).

The boy’s 3200m relay team (Levi, Brokaw, Gilb, Harmon) finished second (10:10).

Daniel Daugherty was fifth in the long jump (15’9″)

Switzerland County won the girls meet with 102 followed by South Ripley 62, Rising Sun 45 and Lawrenceburg 16.

Kasey Baker was second in 3200m run (14:13) and third in the 1600m run (6:44)

Kinsey Price was second in 200m run (29.99), third in 100m Dash (14.72) and second in 400m run (1:05) .

Emma Levi was first in Long Jump (14’2″). Riley Chipman finished third in shot put (29’8.5″). Abby Wallace was fourth in th discus (81’8″).

The 4X100 relay team of Price, Levi, Chipman and Baker finished second

The 3200m relay team of Levi, Miranda Hall, Katelyn Welzel, Baker finished second.

The South Dearborn Invitational started on Thursday, April 20th but was called due to lightning. It is scheduled to resume on Monday, May 1st at 5 p.m.

The meet will resume with the running of the 4×100 relay followed by the 400, 300 hurdles, 800, 200, 3200 and 4×400 relay.
