Rising Sun Ohio County School Superintendent Branden Roeder will serve as principal of the Ohio County Elementary Middle School for the 2016-17 school year.

Roeder was named to take over the principal duties (as well as his superintendent responsibilities) after the school board of trustees accepted the resignation of principal Keith Majewski at the special board meeting Thursday, May 26th.

The board accepted Majewski’s resignation with terms agreed upon with the 16 years principal.

The board voted earlier in the month to add an additional year to the contracts of all administrators but not Majewski.

Roeder has permission to hire an administrator on a daily rate for up to 90 days if needed. He said he has not had a chance to think about who that would be.

In other personnel, Vevay attorney Matt Hocker was hired to replace Batesville attorney Henry Pictor who had served the school corporation for nearly 40 years, including many years under Roeder’s grandfather John G. Roeder.

The resignation of Nathan Pelehowski as middle school soccer coach was accepted.

Teachers approved to teach summer school included Karen Chase, Jennifer Mossburger, Missy Mullen, Lynne DiMuzio, Judy Potts, Lauramary Padgett, Tonya Poling, Amy Todd, Angie Wilson and Lindsey Merica. Paraprofessionals hired were Jane Angst and Christina Romans.
