Switzerland County’s boys and girls varsity basketball teams are competing in the Rivertown Classic Basketball Tournament, which began last night (Wednesday) and continues each night through Saturday at South Dearborn High School.

Last night (Wednesday), the tournament begins on Wednesday night, January 3rd, with two girls semifinal games: South Dearborn versus Rising Sun in the opening game; and Switzerland County versus Lawrenceburg in the second game.

Tonight (Thursday), it’s the boys’ turn to hit the hardwood, as South Dearborn and Rising Sun open the evening; and again Switzerland County and Lawrenceburg will face off in the second game.

The consolation games will be played tomorrow (Friday night), with the two losing teams from last night’s girls games playing in the opening game; and the two losing boys teams from tonight playing in the second game.

Tomorrow night will also feature the cheerleader competition, with squads from all four schools competing.

Championship Saturday gets underway with the girls title game; followed by the boys championship tilt.

First games begin at 6 p.m. each evening; with the second game each night scheduled to tip off at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Tickets will be available at the door.
