Dr. Rev. Charles Dayadharum, pastor of the Switzerland County Community Church here in Vevay, recently returned from a three week mission to the countries of Sri Lanka, formerly known as Ceylon, and India.
Pastor Charles spent five days of his mission in Sri Lanka. This country, located off the coast of India, has been ravaged by war for many years. But continues to boast of having the worlds best tea, black pepper and cinnamon.
The services were held in several of the islands churches. Many people anxious to her Gold’s world showed up seemingly hungry for prayer for their souls and for healing of their bodies. The reactions were so favorable, they asked Pastor Charles to return. He felt blessed by this request since this was the first time he had ministered in Sri Lanka and is planning a return trip in October of this year.
Pastor Charles spent two weeks of his mission in the cities of Chennai, formerly known as Madras; and Bengaluru, formerly Bangalore. Bangalore is the Silicon Valley of India, an IT city which houses many of the American interests of the country.
In India, Pastor Charles ministered in Pastors Conference Churches where family blessing meetings were held. Hundreds of people attended and were healed physically, spiritually and emotionally.
The highlight of the time he spent in India was a meeting he conducted at an orphanage in Bangalore. There were approximately 70 children ranging in age from babies to 17 years old. They were from the North Indian county near the Himalayan Mountains. He had the opportunity of talking with many of them on an individual basis. It was a special time.
It was a busy time. Twenty one meetings in 18 days, ministering to thousands of people eager to hear the word of God. The power of the God’s word was mightily displayed on the mission fields of this part of the world.
Pastor Charles and Switzerland County Community Church are called to spread the gospel of Jesus in our own community, our neighboring counties and states, our country and the outermost parts of the world. The world is our parish.
A mission to South Africa is planned for August or September of this year. God is good!
