If you watched the Super Bowl on Sunday, you may have seen one of the best commercials of the night when Dodge RAM trucks saluted farmers using the voice of Paul Harvey.
The National FFA Foundation and National FFA Organization cooperated with RAM Trucks on the two-minute Super Bowl commercial honoring the American Farmer.
The ad serves as a call to action for the public to celebrate 2013 as the ‘Year of the Farmer’. Individuals may do so by visiting a special web page, viewing the positive messaging of the video and inviting others to do the same.
RAM will contribute up to $1 million to the National FFA Foundation based on the views of the video and activity on the website. The bulk of the new funding will be dedicated to supporting the FFA hunger initiative “Feeding the World-Starting at Home.”
The ad web page is not a sales site. Individuals will only be asked to view the video and recommend it to others. There is a link on the website for those interested in learning more about RAM products as well as a link for individuals wishing to learn more about FFA and agricultural education.
Switzerland County High School FFA advisor Greg Curlin says that supporting this positive messaging about the American Farmer will raise awareness of the National FFA Organization within the general public while providing significant support to a major FFA initiative.
