Rabies clinics end this Saturday

The Switzerland County Health Department’s annual Rabies Clinics will wrap up for another year this Saturday.

Rabies and other vaccinations are being offered at various clinics throughout the county. Other pet medications will also be available. Animal diseases and animal bites (domestic and wild) have been on the rise, and owners are urged to take advantage of these clinics.

By Indiana law, all dogs, cats, and ferrets must be vaccinated yearly for rabies. Owners can be cited for failure to comply with this law.

This Saturday, May 21st, Dr. David Walton will start at the firehouse in East Enterprise from noon to 1 p.m.; then at the Saddle Club in Fairview from 1:30-2 p.m.; then at the Old Mill site in Pleasant from 2:30-3 p.m.; and finally at the firehouse in Moorefield from 3:15-4:15 p.m.

Rabies only vaccinations for dogs are $10; Rabies, Parvo, Distemper, Lepto is $35; and Rabies, Parvo, Distemper, Lepto, and Kennel Cough is $45 (save $10).

Rabies only vaccinations for cats is $10; while Rhinotracheitis; Calicivirus; Panleukopenia; Chlamydiosis, Leukemia; and Rabies is $40 (save $5).
