The Switzerland County Health Department has announced that its annual Rabies Clinics will begin on Saturday, April 30th and will continue for the following three Saturdays.
Rabies and other vaccinations are being offered at various clinics throughout the county. Other pet medications will also be available. Animal diseases and animal bites (domestic and wild) have been on the rise, and owners are urged to take advantage of these clinics.
By Indiana law, all dogs, cats, and ferrets must be vaccinated yearly for rabies. Owners can be cited for failure to comply with this law.
Clinic dates and times include:
– On Saturday, April 30th, Dr. Marvin Moore will be at the Jeff-Craig Firehouse in Vevay from 1-3 p.m.
– On Saturday, May 7th, Dr. David Walton will be at the church in Bennington from noon to 1 p.m.; then at the park in Mount Sterling from 1:30-2 p.m.; then at the church in Center Square from 2:30-3 p.m.
– On Saturday, May 14th, Dr. Walton will be in the Ohio Valley Land Development at Ash Street and Big Bone Drive from 1-1:30 p.m.; then at the Patriot Town Hall from 1:45-2:15 p.m.; then at the firehouse in Florence from 2:30-3:30 p.m.; then in Markland from 3:45-4:15 p.m.; and finally at the Posey Township firehouse near Quercus Grove from 4:45-5:15 p.m.
– On Saturday, May 21st, Dr. Walton will start at the firehouse in East Enterprise from noon to 1 p.m.; then at the Saddle Club in Fairview from 1:30-2 p.m.; then at the Old Mill site in Pleasant from 2:30-3 p.m.; and finally at the firehouse in Moorefield from 3:15-4:15 p.m.
Rabies only vaccinations for dogs are $10; Rabies, Parvo, Distemper, Lepto is $35; and Rabies, Parvo, Distemper, Lepto, and Kennel Cough is $45 (save $10).
Rabies only vaccinations for cats is $10; while Rhinotracheitis; Calicivirus; Panleukopenia; Chlamydiosis, Leukemia; and Rabies is $40 (save $5).
