Program set for 21st Century Scholars

Ivy Tech Community College is hosting an event for area high school 21st Century Scholars and their parents to help students maintain eligibility for their scholarships and maximize its full benefits as well as learn more about the college, its programs, and career pathway opportunities.

The event will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8th at Ivy Tech Madison, 590 Ivy Tech Drive. All 21st Century Scholar students in Grades 11-12 from Jefferson and Switzerland counties and their parents are invited and encouraged to attend.

The 21st Century Scholars program offers income-eligible Hoosier students up to four years of paid tuition at an eligible Indiana college or university. While in high school, 21st Century Scholars are expected to complete a Scholar Success Program that helps them plan, prepare and pay for college completion. The final step is to complete college successfully and enter a career pathway.

The event at Ivy Tech Madison will provide students with the opportunity to complete the necessary modules to maintain their scholarships, as well as ask a 21st Century Scholars program representative any questions they may have. Students and their parents also will be introduced to the Ivy Tech campus, be informed about college resources, and provided information about Ivy Tech’s programs and how they prepare students for a career.

Ivy Tech offers flexible degree programs in health, technology, business, and public services that can lead to well-paying, in-demand careers. Students can also transfer credits from Ivy Tech to four-year institutions for an accomplished, affordable start on a bachelor’s degree.

Students who attend will have the chance to win a GoPro camera. For more information, contact Sean Miller, Ivy Tech Assistant Director of Admissions, by phone at (812) 265-2580, extension 4128, or by email at
