Practices are starting for fall sports

With school set to begin next month, practices are beginning for fall sports teams.

– Varsity boys and girls cross country practice will begin this Monday, July 30th, in front of the high school. The practice times are 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., and athletes are required to attend only one of the practices each day.

Those athletes wanting to participate must have a current physical on file in the high school office. Those needing more information should contact coach Mark Boggs at 427-2516.

– Girls middle school volleyball practices for girls entering grades 6-8 will begin on August 6th from 6-8 p.m. Middle school volleyball will also hold open gyms at the Jefferson-Craig gym on July 19th, July 26th, and August 2nd. All open gyms will be from 6-8 p.m.

Those girls wanting to play must have a current physical on files; and anyone having any questions should contact coach Brooke Levell at 534-3059.

– Practice for the middle school soccer team will begin on August 1st. Any male or female student interested in playing soccer this year must attend at least 10 practices in order to be eligible to play in any of the games.

Athletes must also have a current, completed physical on file at the school in order to be able to practice; and all players should bring soccer cleats, shin guards, and a drink to practice.

Practices will be held at the high school soccer field on the following dates: August 1st-3rd: 10:30 a.m. until noon; August 6th-10th: 10:30 a.m. until noon; August 13th-17th: 3:15-4:30 p.m.
