The town of Patriot will host its seventh annual Fourth of July parade and community picnic this Saturday, July 4th.

The parade is an old-fashioned affair, and will kick off along Main Street at 11 a.m.

The members of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and VFW Post #5396 will be participating in this year’s parade. All veterans and members of the two organizations are asked to gather at the boat dock, and everyone will then march behind the Color Guard to lead the parade. Veterans are asked to gather at 10 a.m.

Anyone interested in entering a float is invited to participate and is required to pre-register by calling Linda Fisk at 594-2243. Line-up is at 10 a.m. at the town boat docks.

A community picnic in Harris Park will follow the parade, with the city providing the meat and drinks. Attendees are asked to provide a covered dish to share.
