I hope everyone is enjoying the new grocery store in Vevay. I haven’t had the chance to go there myself but have heard rave reviews from others who have been. 

Saturday, August 18th, a wedding shower was given for Amanda Hon by her mother, Jennifer Hon, and sister, Liz Kitaif. Liz flew home from Italy to be here for the wedding and to help with the shower. She is living in Italy with her husband, Eric Kitaif, who is in the Air Force. Amanda enjoyed the many nice gifts and seeing a lot  of her high school and college friends, and relatives.

Charla and Alli Azbell of Indianapolis came to Ivan and Dollie Green’s Saturday evening. Charla went to the Wine Festival to meet with fellow classmates. They returned home on Monday. Dollie Green received a phone call Sunday evening from Marita Gregory Varnehm of Knoxville, Tennessee telling her that Marita’s mother had passed away Saturday evening at her daughter’s home in Russellville, Kentucky. Sarah was 95 years old. Sarah lived in Patriot many years ago in the big brick house on the corner of Main and 4th Street. Her funeral was held Thursday in Indianapolis along with her burial.

Bailey Jackson celebrated her 13th birthday on Friday, August 31st. She celebrated with a cookout with her family. Happy birthday to Billie Green on August 27th, and Linda Poling on August 30th.

Joe Brady, Donnie Leap, Randy Cozine, and Ben Kappes went to Autumn Oaks, in Richmond, Indiana, on Saturday, September 1st. Autumn Oaks is an annual coon hunt and dog show, held the first weekend in September. They enjoyed a great time visiting and catching up with old friends.
