Last week Wanda Benzing treated Janet Bond to a day in Kentucky to visit the Quilt Box and have lunch at The Grill. This is located in Dry Ridge, Kentucky. The Quilt Box is a store and part home. It is stocked with fabric, patterns, and ideas for sewing. It is off the main road but you always find people there looking for just the right fabric or a pattern book. Janet began making and selling quilts about 1990 and continued until she had problems with her eyes. She read about the shop in a National Quilt magazine. Janet’s family and several homes in Switzerland County have one or more of her quilts including my own. She made a quilt for my oldest daughter, Raylinn when she was born. Janet does excellent work. The original owner of the shop is now past 85 years old and her granddaughter was tending the shop while the owner was away attending a quilt show the day of the visit. The Benzings lived and taught school in the Walton, Kentucky area before moving to Patriot.

Reesea Jackson and Dollie Green went to Indianpolis Tuesday evening to the Azbell’s. On the way there they stopped at Treton Central High School to watch Drew Azbell’s football game. Heritage lost but it was a good game. Reesea had a doctor’s appointment in downtown Indianpolis on Wednesday. Afterward they returned home.

Billie Green and Dollie Green attended an outdoor wedding Saturday afternoon at the Starlight Reception Hall in Dearborn County. The newly wedded couple was Kayla Peters and Zac Nelson.

Joe Brady turned 74 years old on Sunday, September 9th. He celebrated by enjoying a fried chicken birthday dinner at his home with his family.
