Barb Miller got an email from her son, Chris Miller, on Sunday the 22nd. She said he “sounded” really good.

He’s currently deployed with the 24th MEU, onboard the naval ship USS Iwo Jima.

They can’t disclose their location, but where they are right now it’s about 117 degrees during the day time. He said that it’s almost a full time job just to stay hydrated.

Anyone who would like to send him a letter or card can send it to:

Cpl Christopher G Miller

USS Iwo Jima

VMM 261 DET A Unit 77053

FPO AE 09502-7052

I’m sure he’d like to hear from people.

He’s due to return from this deployment in November.

His wife Rachel lives in Jacksonville, North Carolina. She is a hair stylist at Fusion Hair Salon.

JoAnne Hon spent from Saturday the 14th until Thursday the 19th in Lexington, Kentucky, where she attended National Convention of Phi Beta Psi. This organization’s purpose is to make money for Cancer research. This year they contributed $325,530 to go directly to Research Doctors. This will be divided between six doctors one of whom is James Wittliff, PhD at University of Louisville. JoAnne has been working with this organization for 42 years and attends convention somewhere in the U.S. every year if possible. She had fun but was glad to be home. Jerry didn’t go with her this year and was glad to have a hot meal.

Dollie  Green and Billy Green attended the Chipenndale show at Belterra on Friday the 20th.
