Ivan and Dollie Green, Reesea and Bailey Jackson went to Ivan Green’s nephew, Shane Sample, funeral in Warsaw, Kentucky on Friday, June 28th. Dollie Green and Billie Green attended a baby shower for Billie’s daughter-in-law, Karoline Green at the Patriot Town Hall on Saturday, July 1st. Saturday evening the Greens all went to the Ice Cream Social at the Moorefield Firehouse. Happy belated birthday on July 1st to Mary Lynn Reese.
Ivan and Dollie Green and Galen and Billie Green went out to eat in Kentucky on Friday, July 5th. Charla, Drew, Alli and Sam Azbell from Indianapolis came to the Green’s on Saturday, July 6th and stayed until Monday. Sunday they all went to the Green reunion at the Markland Dam Park. Levi and Kaylee Green of Madison came to the Green’s on Sunday afternoon to pick up Elijah Green who was spending the weekend. The cousins all enjoyed spending time together.
The Patriot 4th of July Parade was a success despite the rain. There were many floats and attendants. The town had a big turnout and the rain did stop long enough for the parade to go through town. After the parade the town enjoyed the Memorial service at the Patriot Memorial Park and then a dinner at Harris Park. Thanks to all who put this together.
On Saturday July 5th, Ben, Patti, Raylinn, and Taylor Kappes enjoyed a 4th of July celebration at Frank Kappes’. They had a delicious fried chicken lunch and the kids had a great time with all their Kappes cousins.
On Saturday evening, July 5th, Linda Smith, Blaine Husby, Sue and Jeff Vansickle, Ben, Patti, and Taylor Kappes went to the Bovard 4th of July party. There were a lot of people there and the fireworks display was fantastic.
Recipe from Aunt Bea:
Tropical Dump Cake
20 oz can crushed pineapple
15 oz can of tropical fruit
1 box orange cake mix
1 1/2 sticks of butter
1/2 cup instant oatmeal
3/4 cup coconut
Dump Both fruits, and their juices into 9×12 baking dish
Pour dry cake mix on top
Mix oatmeal and coconut then sprinkle over cake mixture
Melt Butter and pour on top evenly
Bake in preheated oven at 350* for 1 hour
Serve with ice cream
