I hope everyone had a wonderful Father’s Day. Jesse Hoagland, 15-year-old granddaughter of Carol Ann Armstrong, won eight belt buckles at the rodeo in Rensselaer, Indiana this weekend. She received one for Rookie of the Year, and one for Reserve All-Around Cowgirl, plus six others. Josie Hoagland, 7-year-old granddaughter of Carol Ann Armstrong took first place in the barrels and also goat tying at Salem, Indiana. Congratulations, Jesse and Josie.

After church Sunday, Carol Ann Armstrong, Kay Cook and Janice Meadors enjoyed lunch at the Courtyard in Rising Sun. Rick and Bobbie Patrick and another couple were also there having lunch, then Judy Courtney came in and also had lunch. It was nice to see everyone.

Megan Meadors really enjoyed the Wynonna Concert Saturday night at Rising Star. She has been a fan since she was in kindergarten and first heard The Judds on the school bus. She also got to talk to Wynonna and shake her hand. She was absolutely thrilled. She was treated to dinner and the show by Carol Ann Armstrong.

Sam Schroer, son of John and Laura Schroer, signed up for the summer reading program at the Rising Sun Library. It is a wonderful program for children and they can also win prizes throughout the summer. Sam got the news the other day that he won four tickets to the Cincinnati Reds game on June 24th. Sam and his parents are really excited that they get to attend another Reds game.

Ivan and Dollie Green met Charla, Drew, Allie, and Sam Azbell on Sunday, June 17th, at Frisch’s to celebrate Father’s Day. Fred Azbell is in China on business.

The Brady family all gathered together for a Father’s day dinner at Joe and Donna Brady’s on Sunday, June 17th. Those in attendance were Linda Smith, Brenda and Dickey Bethel, Patti and Ben Kappes, Kassi Houze and Glenn Bovard, Alicia Bethel and fiancé Clint Woods, Toni Royce, Ben’s aunt from Corpus Christie, Texas and her daughter Cassie, Raylinn and Taylor Kappes, and Kole Kelly. Joe sure enjoyed spending his Father’s Day with the family.

Have a great weekend everyone.
