 I actually have some news!

Edith Bowden has been down this week spending time with her daughter Marie Cole. Marie and I spent some time together Tuesday at the Library and she told me of the upcoming visit. How awesome!

This has also been an awesome week for Mary and Tony Christiani! Daughter Jennifer Dadabbo had barely returned home to North Carolina from her visit when they got the call on Sunday announcing the arrival of Harper Louise Patton, 7 pounds, 10 ounce baby girl born in Florida to parents Stephanie and Jay. Harper, as I understand, is the first great-granddaughter of Mary and Tony Christiani. New grandmother Felicia Lynam should already be in Florida by now to help welcome Harper to the family.

Wishing Red HOT Birthdays to Red HOT Hatters: Deanna Graham (January 16th), Patty Chase (January 20th), Mary Christiani (January 21st), Doris Jenkins (January 27th) and Helen Hounshell (January 28th).

The January Red HOT Hatter luncheon will be this Friday, January 18th at Mo’s Steakhouse in Vevay. The meeting will begin at 11 a.m. Topic of discussion will be the agenda for the rest of the year and a group decision will be made as to the destination for the Valentine’s celebration being planned for Friday, February 15th. Red hats and purple clothing are optional also. Bring a friend. No dues or initiation required. All we ask is that you follow three basic rules: have fun, make new friends and enjoy great food!

Critter Corner: Being a little more up close and personal with the critters during the cold weather, I find them all such a blessing. My newest K9 addition, Ms. Lexie, I have discovered has an appetite for oolong tea. She not only loves to drink it freshly brewed right out of my cup, but she loves to eat the strained teabags. Needless to say, I am learning to be a bit more protective of my teacup.

Sunday when it couldn’t decide whether it should snow or rain or sleet, one of my Two Terrible Tomcats, DiNozzo, darted out the door only to slide down the sidewalk for about 6 feet. It was hysterical (to me) to see the very stealth and sure-footed feline loose it on the ice.
