Saturday evening, March 9th, Ivan and Dollie Green enjoyed the Vevay Music Club program at the Java Bean Café, as guests of Billie and Galen Green. The country and folk music was very enjoyable. Delicious blackberry and peach cobbler with ice cream was served by the Java Bean Café. Tuesday, March 12th, Hazel Huffner, Billie Green, and Dollie Green enjoyed lunch at Mo’s in Vevay. Later they decorated some classmates’ graves for Easter.

The Posey Pioneers 4-H Club members painted the window of MainSource Bank in Vevay on Saturday, March 11th, for the 4-H window painting contest. The members who attended and helped paint the window were Jeana Rayles, Brianna Vinup, Raylinn Kappes, Tessa Renyer, Emerson Schroer, Sam Schroer, Allison Detmer, Alisha Detmer, Kobe Chatham, Amanda Norfleet, Ethan Hussong, and Willow Lieland. The group leaders Micheller Detmer and Linda Smith were also there to assist the 4-H’ers. After painting the group enjoyed pizza provided by the club. The 4-H club went to Switzerland County Animal Shelter on Tuesday, March 26th, to volunteer. The members helped clean cages and walk the animals.

Tommy Owens, nephew of Jim Rush, was diagnosed with lymphoma last week. Lymphoma is a blood cancer He will undergo chemotherapy and radiation soon. This type of cancer is curable. Please keep him in your prayers.

Sharon Levell, who contributes the recipes for Patriot news, is undergoing knee replacement surgery. Keep her in your prayers for a speedy recovery.

Homemade Ice Cream

Beat 10 eggs

2 1/2 cups of sugar

Then add one large box of instant vanilla pudding

8 oz pure vanilla

Pinch of salt

2 1/2 of Half and Half

Beat well and freeze

Enjoy.
