Sometimes after a busy weekend you just need a quiet week.
That is what has happened here this week. The fourth of July celebrations are behind us, and the summer months are in full swing. The sound of laughter from children playing in their yards, pool parties and families gathering together to enjoy the beautiful days. We had some rainy days, but we need the rain for the crops and so we don’t end up in a drought. Things are certainly getting back to normal and it’s a good feeling.
The Patriot Baptist Church will be holding its Vacation Bible School July 19th, 20th, and 21st from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the church. Lots of fun to be had along with learning the word of God. Music, crafts, refreshments will be provided. Ages preschool through middle school are welcomed. It’s going to be a fun time.
I have been asked by water superintendent Joey Duckworth and the town board to pass along some information concerning all the residents of Patriot and those who are on Patriot water. On August 2nd at the monthly town board meeting, they will be discussing eliminating fluoride being fed into the water system. Some of the reasons for removing it are the cost of fluoride, maintenance, and natural fluoride at each well wide of 0.2 or higher. Please attend the meeting to help in the decision . As a community we can only change things if we go to meetings, and voice our opinion.
Everyone have a wonderful week, stay safe, and cool.
