Well, Thanksgiving and Black Friday have come and gone. I did go shopping on Black Friday, but I avoided all of the craziness and my only purchases were reasonably priced items from a better selection than usual. As a matter of fact, my Christmas shopping is D-O-N-E.

Prayers of comfort to the families of William Lay and Mary Alice Scudder who both passed away on Sunday. Prayers also to the family of Doris Garrett, who passed this last week.

As soon as the cold hit, I began hunkering down for the winter. Since I sold my RV to Mike Bear a couple of months ago, my dreams of Florida this winter are officially non-existent. So — I intend to make the best of it and stay as warm as I can. My Double Chins (Japanese Chin canine Yoda and Lexie) and I have begun a more structured exercise program and with the help of my new imitation ‘Fit Bit’, we’re off to a good start. Just in time for Thanksgiving, my orthopedic surgeon released me early from shoulder surgery #2 (left). My physical therapist at Highpoint has been gracious enough to assist me with exercises for both shoulders which I very much appreciate. I have even dug out my exercise bike but fat chance that Ms. Lexie that allow me to skip our walks and stay inside.

Ed Trinkle called me last week to check on Patty Chase. Smart man, he canceled his trip up north for fear of running into something as catastrophic as the ice storm!
