Ivan and Dollie Green traveled to Indianapolis on Wednesday, November 7th, to spend the weekend with the Azbells. On Thursday they attended Grandparent’s Day with their granddaughter, Allie Azbell, who is in the 7th grade at Heritage Christian School. On Friday they went to the Holiday Gift and Hobby Show. On Saturday, they enjoyed watching their grandson, Sam Azbell, play in three basketball games. The Greens returned home Sunday evening.

Sue and Robert Jackman of Anderson, Indiana came down to Patriot on Saturday. They were formerly from here and moved to Anderson a few years ago. They enjoyed a visit with Joe and Donna Brady.

Patriot Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting a hunter’s breakfast on Saturday, November 17th, at the Patriot Firehouse , at 5:30 a.m. Cost is $5.

Patriot Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary is collecting donations for the 2012 PVFD Auxiliary Christmas drive in the Patriot area. Donations of new toys and nonperishable food are currently being accepted along with cash donations. Donations can be dropped off at the Patriot Town Hall and Fisk’s Grocery. Checks can be made out to the P.V.F.D. Auxiliary and mailed to the Patriot Town Hall, P.O. Box 145, Patriot IN 47038. Any Family needing Family Assistance can pick up an application for assistance at the Patriot Town Hall, 352 Third Street, Patriot IN between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. They need to be turned in by December 9th. Food and Gift baskets will be based on need. Recipients will be contacted when to pick up Food baskets. Gifts will be delivered on Christmas Eve.
