 For just one more time, Patty Chase and I are joining forces this Saturday, October 5th for our final yard sale at her home located smack dab in the middle of Florence at 15338 State Road 156. Our financial goal last week was to winter in Florida but unfortunately, we didn’t make enough to even get to the Markland Shell for a soda. As predicted, however, we sure did enjoy visiting with the folks that dropped by so come and join us starting at 8 a.m. and maybe you’ll find the “Betty Boop” bargain of your lifetime!

  The Patriot Baptist Church Annual Homecoming Service will be held on October 20th, at 11 a.m. and will feature special music, bits of church history, and more. Lunch will follow the service at Patriot Town Hall. Pastor Mike Jones is inviting all to come and join in as they celebrate their heritage.

  The Red HOT Hatters will meet at the home of newly-appointed Co-Queen Joyce Johnson on Thursday, October 17th at 11 a.m. for our traditional Halloween costume luncheon and meeting. Attendees are asked to bring side dishes of veggies, salads or desserts. Joyce resides at 6064 Firth Addition in Vevay.

  This year the Red HOT Hatters have decided to diversify their Christmas projects and will include Angel Tree, Operation Christmas Tree (Samaritan’s Purse), the Switzerland County Animal Shelter as well as the Switzerland County Jail Inmates.   This recipe does not provide the exact number of chicken breasts that can be sufficiently covered with this spread but it would also depend up on thickly you spread the mixture.  Regardless, it’s called “Melt in your mouth Chicken” — and it is!



½ Cup – Parmesan Cheese

1 Cup – Mayonnaise

1 tsp. – Garlic Powder

1 ½ tsp. – Seasoning Salt

½ tsp. – Pepper

Mix all ingredients together and spread the mixture over chicken breasts. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes.
