Did you know we have a book oven in Vevay? The Switzerland County Public Library has established a procedure for sanitizing books borrowed from other locations which involves ‘baking’ the books in a ‘bug oven’.  The purpose of the procedure to quell any possible bug infestation hidden inside the covers of books prior to those books being re-distributed to readers. It takes a couple of extra days but its well worth the wait!

Prayers of comfort to the family of James “Butch” Hilligoss who passed away Friday. Also, to the family of Dr. Fidelia Valenzuela on her loss.

Congratulations to Janice and Tom Meadors of Patriot on their 50th Anniversary September 12th.

My very dear friend, Posey Tapper and Red HOT Hatter Stasia Wiseman has a birthday coming up on September 26th. (19, I think?) Stasia defines vivacious!

The Red HOT Hatters will be holding their meeting as a dinner on Thursday, September 19th at the Ferry Street FUDO at 4 p.m.

In October for our traditional Halloween costume luncheon and meeting we will meet at the home of newly-appointed Co-Queen Joyce Johnson on Thursday, October 17th at 11 a.m. Attendees are asked to bring side dishes of veggies, salads or desserts. Joyce resides at 6064 Firth Addition in Vevay.
