 Did you know we have a book oven in Vevay? The Switzerland County Public Library has established a procedure for sanitizing books borrowed from other locations which involves ‘baking’ the books in a ‘bug oven’.  The purpose of the procedure to quell any possible bug infestation hidden inside the covers of books prior to those books being re-distributed to readers. It takes a couple of extra days but its well worth the wait!

  Prayers of comfort to the family of James “Butch” Hilligoss who passed away Friday. Also, to the family of Dr. Fidelia Valenzuela on her loss.

  Congratulations to Janice and Tom Meadors of Patriot on their 50th Anniversary September 12th.

  My very dear friend, Posey Tapper and Red HOT Hatter Stasia Wiseman has a birthday coming up on September 26th. (19, I think?) Stasia defines vivacious!

  The Red HOT Hatters will be holding their meeting as a dinner on Thursday, September 19th at the Ferry Street FUDO at 4 p.m.

  In October for our traditional Halloween costume luncheon and meeting we will meet at the home of newly-appointed Co-Queen Joyce Johnson on Thursday, October 17th at 11 a.m. Attendees are asked to bring side dishes of veggies, salads or desserts. Joyce resides at 6064 Firth Addition in Vevay.

  Barbara DeNoon seems to feel well enough to be removed from the Prayer List. She’s at home now and seems to be doing very well. Eva Fette was back at church this weekend but could still use some prayers.

TO ROBERT REDFORD

1st Layer

1 Cup Flour

1 Stick (Melted) Margarine

½ Cup/ 2 oz. Pkg. Chopped Pecans

Mix together and press into 13”x9” pan.  

 Bake 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees.

2nd Layer

1 Cup Sugar

8 oz. Pkg. (Softened) Cream Cheese

½ of 16 oz. Kool Whip

Mix together and spread on top of Layer one.

3rd Layer

1 Lg. Instant Chocolate Pudding

1 Lg. Instant Vanilla Pudding

3 Cups Milk

Mix together and spread on top of Layer two.

4th Layer

Top with other ½ of Kool Whip and 

sprinkle 2 oz. Pkg. chopped Pecans on top.
