A very Happy, Belated Birthday to Leah Jones who turned 85 this past Sunday!

  The Patriot 4th of July Parade will be held at 11 a.m. today (Thursday), with registration at the Patriot Boat Ramp beginning at 8:30 a.m. There will be a Float Contest and the categories include: Best in Show (overall best), Most Original, Classic Wheels (best motorcycle, tractor or car) and The Patriot (most patriotic float).  Category winners will receive monetary prizes. Winners will be announced at the town picnic in the park.

   The Sadie Green Family Reunion will be held at the Markland Park on Sunday, July 14th, according to Billie Green. Festivities will begin at noon.

  Congratulations to Red HOT Hatter Shannon Phipps on the arrival of her new baby granddaughter Zara Claire, who arrived Wednesday.

  The next Red HOT Hatter meeting will be held on Thursday, July 19th, with the location yet to be determined.

  This week’s recipe is:

E-Z Breakfast Cheese Danish

2 cans – Refrigerated

crescent rolls

2 8-ounce pkg – Cream cheese

1 cup – Sugar

1 tsp. – Vanilla extract

1 – Egg

1 – Egg white

Glaze:

1/2 cup – Powdered sugar

2 T. Milk

1/2 tsp. – Vanilla extract

  Preheat oven to 350-degrees and grease a 13×9-inch baking pan.

  Lay a pack of crescent rolls in the pan and pinch the openings together.

  Beat the cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and egg together until smooth.

  Spread the mixture over the crescent rolls evenly and then lay the second pack of crescent rolls on top of the cheese mixture and brush with egg white.

  Bake for 35-45 minutes. Cool for 20 minutes.

  Top with glaze.
