The second annual “Tea for Toni” will be held at the Schenck Mansion, on Sunday, March 31st from 1-3 p.m. A donation of $20 per person is being requested. Everyone is welcome. There will also be a silent auction including a 1913 restored antique white treadle sewing machine, a limited edition print, handcrafted kitchen accessories, gift certificates from Wainscott’s Garage and the Ladies Bazaar and a Derby hat or two so far.

Jenny at the Schenck Mansion will be preparing the menu for the Tea which will consist of both savory (Salmon salad and cherry tomatoes, Spinach and cheese puff pastry, Creamy sausage mushroom cup and cucumber dill finger sandwiches) and sweet (Schenck Mansion cookies, Lemon-rosemary shortbread, Custard fruit tart and Rocky Road brownies).

With the return of the Lenten season, the Rising Sun United Methodist Church will again be holding a Fish Fry on March 8th. The church is located near the intersection of Highway 56 and Main Street at 110 S. Walnut. The fish fry, I believe, will begin around 4 p.m. and run until 7 p.m. Hope to see my friends, the Lielands and the Polings there again this year!

In addition, donations are being accepted for the Switzerland County Animal Shelter. RSVP for Fudo’s requested by Wednesday, March 13th.
