Okay, like a whole lot of other folks, I ate my way through Super Bowl Sunday! I just didn’t watch the game. The critters and I did spend the day in the sun soaking up those rays and much needed warmth. It was wonderful! Endorphins are now re-charged and ready for more cold weather.

February 5th is a very special day for two very special ladies! Mary Ellen Witt will be 90 years young this year and is a cherished member of the Most Sorrowful Mother of God Parish with husband Don. My BFF and Red HOT Hatter Co-Queen Sandy Dawson will be 70 years young! Last year, on her birthday, Sandy welcomed her brand new great-grandson Lukas. Others celebrating their birthdays this month are: Wendy Yanikoski (2/1), Alanna Smith (2/9) and Lulu Belle Thomas (2/13).

Many thanks to the wonderful folks at Wainscott’s Garage! Again, they’ve proven dependable, reliable and reasonably priced! This time it was a slow leaking tire. Despite the bitter cold, the office area was warm and toasty and of course friendly!

The February meeting of the Red HOT Hatters will be at the Captain Hook’s Seafood Restaurant in Carrollton, Kentucky on Friday, February 15th at 11 a.m. Marie Cole has suggested that we carpool over and those interested in doing so should meet at the YMCA where they will leave at 10:30 a.m. Those of us living on the ‘other side’ of the county, might want to meet up with me at the Markland Shell and carpool over and again, we should leave no later than 10:30 a.m.

Critter Corner: Well, Patriot has been known for a whole lot of things in the past and apparently now, we have our own special breed of black cats! Having talked to Connie and David Fisk at their Grocery, I discovered this week that they have a young black tomcat that is identically marked to my Two Terrible Twin Tomcats DiNozzo and Gibbs. And then there’s also my black Momma Cat formerly known as Scaredy Cat and now known as Ziva who is also completely black with just a touch of a few white hairs on her upper chest. All are fairly short haired. My two males are inside/outside kitties but wear either red or blue collars with bells. Supposedly, the bells are to scare away the birds but DiNozzo manages to kill a couple each year anyway. Momma Cat pretty much does whatever she wants, whenever she wants — without a collar. After our hellacious life and death ordeal last spring getting her to the vets to be neutered, “we” will never be extremely close friends. All my critters are now ‘Its’ and according to Connie, Boo Boo has his appointment coming up this month.

Prayer List: Mike and Sue Bear, Ellyn Kern — wife of Jerry Brown, Aletha and Owen Heaton, John Campbell, Sharon and Bill Levell, Bruce Hutcherson, Irvin and Eva Fette, Eddie Trinkle, Rev. Stephen and Sharon Ward, Mike, Jake Rader and Red HOT Hatters Stasia Wiseman, Barb Dowdy, Mary Christiani, Eileen Wiesmann, Lura Riga, June Lack, Sandy Dawson and Sondra Stave.
