The next monthly meeting of the Patriot Town Board is scheduled for Monday, February 6th, and will begin promptly at 6 p.m. and as always will be open to the public. The meetings are held at 352 Third Street in Patriot.
Special prayers requested for my friends Mickey Whitham and Jean Dettenwanger and my cousin Shirley Cook in Indianapolis. Shirley has been fighting cancer for over a year. Right after Thanksgiving, the doctors sent her home with a life expectancy of 12-24 hours. So far she’s made it through Christmas, New Year’s and even celebrated another birthday. Guess the doctors didn’t take in consideration how determined she is and how the care and love of her family can make such a difference.
Happy Anniversary to two very special couples: Anthony and Mary Christiani (February 8th) and Reverend Stephen and Sharon Ward (February 14th).
Very Happy Birthday to Wendy Yanikoski (February 1st), Sandy Dawson, Cheryl McMillan and Mary Ellen Witt (all three on February 5th!), and Tammy McKay (February 6th). The stars must have all been in the right place for three such very special ladies to all share the same birthday!
February’s Red HOT Hatters “Happy V.D.” meeting is planned for Monday, February 13th at noon at the Ridge Winery located 11048 E. Highway 156 where they have the best dam view, five free tastes of wine per person and they have always treated the Red HOT Hatters like the true royalty that we are. Lunch will consist of donated meat, veggie and cheese trays. The theme suggested by Dotty Keeton is “Heart Healthy”. Anyone interested in attending may do so. Bring a friend and a gift worth $5-$10 for exchange. Red hats are not required to participate.
