The annual 4th of July Parade and celebration in the town of Patriot will once again celebrate America’s independence.
The parade this year will begin at 11 a.m. this Wednesday, July 4th, with lineup at the Patriot Boat Ramp beginning at 9 a.m. Participants age 18 and younger must be wearing a helmet if they are riding in an off road vehicle in the parade.
For the second year there will again be a bicycle decoration contest before the parade for children ages 3-12 The contest will be judged on the utilization of red, white, and blue in a patriotic design theme.
Registration forms will be available the day of the parade at sign-up, and include the necessary liability waivers.
Everyone is encouraged to participate.
This year’s Grand Marshal of the Patriot Parade is Sandy Dawson, who is being honored in loving memory of her late husband, Wayne Dawson.
Immediately following the parade there will be a flag ceremony at the Memorial Park. The day’s activities will conclude in Harris Park and will include a meal and fun activities for the kids.
