Park Dept. programs bring in revenue

The Rising Sun Ohio County Park and Recreation Department continues to offer a variety of events through the first quarter of 2017.

Park Director Jamie Bell introduced programs including dance, martial arts, yoga, Move-It Ohio County, Valentine’s Arts and Crafts, Fitness Frenzy and a kindergarten bike safety program.

The park brought in nearly $8000 in the first quarter including $3779 from the popular dance classes and $1810 in rental of the Senior Center and $710 in rental of the Schroeder Facility.

The park has been busy addressing repairs and problems.

The biggest issue has been the damage by storms in October which included re-roofing shelters and hail damage.

Drew Hewitt will begin an internship in May.

High school students have completed several community service hours.
