Parents of Switzerland County School Corporation students who are in grades 7-10 are invited to a special Parents’ Night Dinner and presentation to learn about opportunities for students to obtain good-paying jobs in manufacturing after high school graduation.
The dinner is free to all parents and students in grades 7-10, and will be held tonight (Thursday, April 16th). A pizza and salad buffet will be served beginning at 6 p.m., and the program will begin at 6:30 p.m.
The dinner and program will be held in the cafeteria at Switzerland County High School.
Presenters will share information with parents and students covering several topics, including:
- Project Lead the Way courses in the middle school and high school;
– Advanced Manufacturing courses;
– Available jobs in the Switzerland County region and the skills required to obtain them;
– ‘Dream It! Do It!’, a program designed to encourage youth interest in manufacturing careers;
– College credit for high school students.
All residents attending will be eligible for a drawing at the conclusion of the program. Several prizes will be awarded, including two Family Days at Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari (each Family Day includes four admission passes to the park).
The Switzerland County School Corporation, with assistance from the EcO15 program, has introduced several new classes and programs over the past four years to help students prepare for employment after high school.
As today’s jobs require more skills than ever before at the time of employment, Switzerland County is preparing our young people to succeed in the workforce.
Residents wishing to attend should RSVP by calling the high school at (812) 427-2626 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
