The Switzerland County High School boys varsity track team finished tied for second in last week’s ORVC Meet.
Rising Sun won the conference with a team total of 139; followed by Switzerland County and South Ripley, each with 92 points. Milan was fourth with 81; followed by Jac-Cen-Del with 31; Madison Shawe with 24; and Southwestern with five.
Switzerland County had three individual conference champions:
– Clint Swanson won the 200-meter dash in a personal best time of :23.0
– Quinn Meyer won the long jump with a personal best distance of 18′ 5 1/2″.
– Alex Curran won the high jump with a height of 6’0″
Earned second places for the Pacers were Zack Rodgers in the discus; and the 400-meter relay team of Jesse Bailey, Zack Rodgers, Tyler Maxey, and Clint Swanson.
Third place points were earned by Clint Swanson in the 100-meter dash; Sean Oatman in the 110-meter high hurdles; Alex Curran in the long jump; and the 3,200-meter relay team consisting of Mikhail Cole, Logan Pike, Alex Galbreath, and Braden Burk.
Finishing fourth were Sean Oatman in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles; and the 1,600-meter relay team of Quinn Meyer, Braden Burk, Tyler Maxey, and Logan Pike.
Fifth places were earned by Braden Burk in the 800-meter run and the 1,600-meter run; Dakota Taylor in the 3,200-meter run and the 110-meter high hurdles; Kevin Adams in the high jump; and Brady Scudder in the shot put.
Sixth places were earned by Alex Galbreath in the 800-meter run and the discus.
The Pacers will compete in the East Central Track Sectional tonight (Thursday), beginning at 5 p.m.
