The Indiana High School Athletic Association held its draw for this year’s boys state basketball tournament on Sunday night, and Coach B.J. McAlister’s Switzerland County Pacers now know their path to a tourney championship.

Switzerland County will be playing in Class 2A, Sectional 45, which will be played at South Ripley High School.

The Sectional opens this Tuesday, February 28th, with South Ripley (12-6) taking on Southwestern (7-13) in the opening game at 6 p.m.

Following that the Pacers hit the floor, as Switzerland County (11-9) will take on Milan (14-4) in a game that will start at approximately 7:30 p.m.

The Sectional will then shift to Friday, March 2nd, where the winner of Tuesday’s South Ripley-Southwestern game will play Austin (4-15) in the first game at 6 p.m.; followed by the Switzerland County-Milan winner playing North Decatur (10-8) in Friday’s second game.

Friday’s two winners will then play for the Sectional Championship on Saturday, March 3rd, with the title tilt set to tip off at 7:30 p.m.

The winner of the South Ripley Sectional will then play in the Southridge Regional on Saturday, March 10th.

That Regional will open with the North Knox Sectional winner taking on the Southridge Sectional winner; followed by the winner at South Ripley taking on the winner at Paoli.

At North Knox, it figures to be a battle between Eastern Greene (18-1) and Sullivan (81-2); but Linton-Stockton (12-8) and Bloomfield (11-10) also have winning records.

The Southridge Sectional is anyone’s to claim, with Perry Central (14-5), Forest Park (13-7), Evansville Mater Dei (11-7), North Posey (11-9), and Southridge (10-9) all having winning records.

The Paoli Sectional features three powerhouses, with Clarksville (17-2), Providence (16-3), and Crawford County (17-3) all vying for the Sectional crown.

The Southridge winner will then play in the Semistate on March 17th at Seymour or Southport; with the State Finals on March 24th in Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
