Pacers fall to Madison in baseball, 12-9

After enduring several rainouts to open the season, the Switzerland County boys varsity baseball team hit the field on Monday night, and despite a strong effort, fell to Madison by a score of 12-9.

The first inning got started with Travis Webster being hit by a pitch; and that was followed by T.J. Sefton and Zack Osowski drawing walks to load the bases.

Brandon Otter then stole second, and he and Zach Osowski both scored on a single by Luke May, giving the Pacers a big four-run opening inning.

That would be all of the Switzerland County scoring until the fifth, when a Zach Osowski double drove home T.J. Sefton.

In the seventh, Brandon Otter, Aaron Moore, and Luke May all connected on singles, with Luke May’s plating Brandon Otter for the team’s sixth run.

After a Travis Tackett ground out advanced Aaron Moore and Luke May, a grounder by Danny Schira turned into a Madison error, allowing both Pacer runners to score. Danny Schira then scored on a single by T.J. Sefton to close the scoring.
