At the Ohio River Valley Conference golf tournament held on May 19th at the Spring Hill Golf Course in Hanover, a pair of Switzerland County golfers shot their way onto the All Conference team.
The top 14 golfers in the 18-hole format earned their way onto the squad; and Switzerland County was represented by Walter Barnes, who finished third overall with a 78; and Alex Curran, who shot an 85 to finish seventh overall.
The squad was led by medalist Joey Mingione of Madison Shawe, who had a 71; followed by Brynen Chitwood of Southwestern, who had a 76.
Bryce Murray of Rising Sun had a 79; Travis Butte of Milan had an 80; Michael Perry of Southwestern had an 81; Michael Muessel of Madison Shawe had an 87; Nathan Scroggins of Southwestern and Devin Tankersley of South Ripley each had an 88; Stacey Noble of Southwestern had an 89; and Alex Reuss of Madison Shawe, Austin Armstrong of Rising Sun; and Jake Willhite of Rising Sun all finished with a 90.
Southwestern won the team championship; with Rebel coach Dave Bramer being named the Coach of the Year.
Jake Willhite of Rising Sun earned the conference’s Mental Attitude Award.
Southwestern finished with a score of 334; followed by Madison Shawe with a 346; Rising Sun with a 355; Milan with a 370; Switzerland County with a 371; Jac-Cen-Del with a 406; and South Ripley with a 424.
Other individual scores for the Pacers included: Clint Swanson, 99; Dustin Tice, 109; and Logan Todd, 109.
