The Switzerland County boys and girls cross country teams competed in the highly competitive South Dearborn Invitational on Saturday morning.
For the boys, the Pacers finished third in a field of 18 teams, trailing champion Jennings County and second place Centerville. Batesville was fourth, followed by South Dearborn, Rushville, Union County, Oldenburg Academy, Rising Sun, South Ripley, Greensburg, Taylor (Ohio), Franklin County, Southwestern Shelby, Jac-Cen-Del, and Lawrenceburg.
Individually, junior Clay Meyer continued his outstanding season with a fifth overall finish in a time of 17:32.
Tray Meyer was 11th in a time of 17:50; Corey McFarland was 14th in a time of 18:01; Josh Hon was 29th in a time of 18:46; Tanner Ross was 75th in a time of 20:14; Zach O’Neal was 94th in a time of 21:15; and Bradlee Burk was 106th in a time of 23:29.
The Lady Pacers were seventh in a field of 14 teams.
Union County won the meet, followed by Batesville, Oldenburg Academy, Rushville, Rising Sun, Taylor (Ohio), Switzerland County, South Ripley, Southwestern Shelby, Jennings County, Centerville, Jac-Cen-Del, South Dearborn, and Milan.
The Lady Pacers were led by Amber Meli, who finished eighth overall in a time of 21:27.
Andrea Brogan was 40th in a time of 23:55; Maggie Armstrong was 43rd in a time of 24:12; Beth Abbott was 51st in a time of 24:52; and Shana Todd was 67th in a time of 26:19.
