The Switzerland County Pacers boys and girls track teams competed in the South Dearborn Invitational on Thursday evening, April 21st.
Going against larger schools on a wet cool evening, the Pacers still managed a good showing with several encouraging performances, according to head coach Adam Pietrykowski.
Juniors Moriah Northcutt and McKayli Scudder provided the highlights for the girls team.
Northcutt remained unbeaten on the season in the 100-meter hurdle event, providing the Pacers lone victory on the evening. Scudder came in second in the long jump with a season best leap; and Northcutt provided the other runner up finish with a strong run in the 300-meter hurdles.
The strongest performance for the boys came from the 400 meter relay team of Logan Parton, Brody Splain, Cameron Niswander, and Keegan Morris, which finished third. Parton and Niswander also had significant season best times in the 300-meter hurdles and the 800-meter run respectively.
“The experience against larger schools will serve well to motivate and show the Pacers that there is still plenty of room for improvement as we near the tournament series in May,
Pietrykowski said.
