Pacer track teams at JCD 4-way meet

  The Switzerland County boys and girls varsity track teams participated in a four-way meet at Jac-Cen-Del last Thursday night.

  The Switzerland County boys and girls varsity track teams participated in a four-way meet at Jac-Cen-Del last Thursday night.

  In the girls event, the Lady Pacers won with a team score of 80; followed by Jac-Cen-Del with 59 1/2; Southwestern with 56; and Trinity Lutheran had 27 1/2.

  Ally Furnish was a double winner, earning blue ribbons in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of :18.3; and also in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles in a time of :53.6.

  Leah Anders won the 800-meter run in a time of 2:37; and Jody Breeck won the shot put with a distance of 30’ 5 /2”.

  Also bringing home blue ribbons was the 3,200-meter relay team of Keirstan Oeffinger, Abby Niswander, Destine Peelman, and Anders, who clocked a time of 11:58; the 400-meter relay team of Jayden Thomas, Sydney Thomas, Willow Lieland, and Amanda Peacock in a time of :58.6; and the 1,600-meter relay team of Furnish, Niswander, Oeffinger, and Anders, which compiled a time of 4:39.

  Second places were earned by Allison Detmer in the 100-meter hurdles;  Niswander in the 400-meter dash; Jayden Thomas in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles; Matty Anderson in the 800-meter run; and Lieland in the long jump.

  Third place ribbons were earned by Lieland in the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash; Oeffinger in the 1,600-meter run; and Breeck in the discus; while fourth places were earned by Peelman in the 1,600-meter run; Bri Vinup in the 3,200-meter run. Detmer finished fifth in the 3,200-meter run and the long jump.

  In the boys meet, Switzerland County was third with 49 points. Southwestern won the meet with 84; followed by Jac-Cen-Del with 52. Trinity Lutheran finished with 44 points.

  Keegan Morris was a double winner in the meet, earning first place in the 100-meter dash in a time of :11.8 and also int he 200-meter dash in a time of :23.8.

  Also bringing home two first places was Zach Howlett, who won the discus with a distance of 124’5” and the shot put with a distance of 41’ 5 1/2”.

  Bailey Bennett won the 110-meter hurdles to pick up Switzerland County’s other first place points. He ran a time of :17.0.

  Second place points were earned by Bennett in the 400-meter dash; Cameron Niswander in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles; and the 1,600-meter relay team of Corey Taulbee, Tre Batchelor, Bennett, and Niswander.

  Earning third place points was Isaac Slover in the shot put; and he was also fifth in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles; with JW Goldsberry finishing fifth in the 200-meter dash; Coby Manbeck was fifth in the 3,200-meter run; and Darian Fixmer was fifth in the shot put.
