Pacer runners in Duke Meyer Classic

The Switzerland County Pacer varsity cross country teams traveled to Hanover on Saturday to compete in the Duke Meyer Classic.

In the girls race, the Lady Pacers finished third overall, tying their highest finish of the season as a team.

Individually, Leah Anders finished second overall in a time of 20:47; while Keirstan Oeffinger was 16th in a time of 22:39. Alisha Detmer ran a personal best time of 22:53 to finish 20th overall; and Matty Anderson also posted a personal best time, finishing 21st in a time of 23:04.

Allison Detmer was 42nd in a time of 25:20; and Zoe Cole was 51st in a time of 27:33.

In the boys race, the Pacers did not have some key runners in the race, but still had a strong finish.

Garrett Demaree led the way with a time of 19:06; while Ben Hicks finished with a time of 20:29; Jaydon Day posted a time of 24:02; and Levi Baker had a time of 27:55.

Both teams will return to the Hanover course this Saturday for the ORVC meet, which will begin at 5 p.m.
