All ORVC accolades

  The members of the All Conference team for boys and girls cross country for the Ohio River Valley Conference are determined by the individual placings in the conference meet, with the top 12 individuals earning All ORVC nods.

  For the boys, Switzerland County had two runners earn the distinction: Julio Regueira Prats finished seventh in the conference meet with a time or 18:49; and Nathan Furnish finished 12th in the conference meet with a time of 19:04.

  Other runners earning All ORVC laurels were: Trevor Smith, Caleb Geary, Gavyn Mundt, Brandon Smith, and Matthew Williams of Southwestern; Damon Hughes, Joshua Pohle, and Todd Menchhofer of Jac-Cen-Del; and Dalton Vinup and Peyton Merica of Rising Sun.

  Southwestern won the conference team championship; and Seth Pohle of Jac-Cen-Del and Jayson Cornett of South Ripley were honored with the Mental Attitude Award.


  For the girls, the Lady Pacers also had two runners earn All Conference honors.

  Gracie White finished fourth overall with a time of 22:07; and Alisha Detmer was right behind, finishing fifth in a time of 22:12.

  Switzerland County senior Allison Detmer was also honored by the ORVC, earning the Mental Attitude Award.

  Other runners earning All Conference were: Calli Alderman of Shawe Memorial; Lanie Nicholson, Emily Campbell, and Deborah Murphy of conference champion South Ripley; Cloey Simon, Kayla Simon, and Kaytlin Sizemore of Jac-Cen-Del; Jirsten Geary and Hannah Sims of Southwestern; and Lucy Lillis of Milan.
