Pacer runners compete
at SD Invitational
Missing their head coach — the Switzerland County Pacers boys and girls cross country teams had an outstanding day on Saturday at the South Dearborn Invitational.
With head coach Meganmarie Dennis away from the team while she dealt with a health issue, several runners, parents, and school officials stepped up to make the day a memorable one.
Led by Cooper Hon, the Pacer boys teams finished in third place in the eight-team field.
Hon finished fourth overall in a personal record time of 16:54 — the 15th fasted time in school history.
Nate Furnish finished 10th overall in a season personal best time of 18:12; Luke Sullivan also posted a personal best time of 19:11 to finish in 19th place overall; and Cale Collier ran a time of 19:55 to finish 29th overall.
Dylan Sullivan ran a season personal best time of 20:40 to finish 39th; Derek Hoskins was 44th in a time of 22:32; Kadyn Riley finished 53rd in a time of 27:50; and Canaan Johnson was 54th in a time of 27:50
