Pacer players honored by ORVC

The Ohio River Valley Conference has announced its “Top Performers” and “Players of the Week” for the time period of May 2nd-7th, and several Switzerland County players have been honored.

– In softball, Switzerland County’s Kali Carfield and Karoline Park were honored as “Top Performers”.

Kali Carfield was honored for collecting seven hits, including two doubles and three home runs; scoring seven runs; knocking in eight runs in five games.

Karoline Park was honored for getting five hits including two doubles, scoring two runs, and getting four RBI in five games.

Other softball players in the conference honored as “Top Performers” included: Kelsey Baillie and Sydney Willhite of Rising Sun; Whitney Walker and Kasey King of South Ripley; Ashley Josephsen of Madison Shawe; Lizzie Fuller of Milan; and Kristina Hartman of Jac-Cen-Del.

Liz Anderson of Southwestern and Arielle Noel of Milan were honored as the “Players of the Week”.

- In boys track, top performances in events for the week included: Quinn Meyer in the long jump (18’3″); Clint Swanson in the 100-meter dash (:11.3) and the 200-meter dash (:23.1); and the boys 400-meter relay team of Jesse Bailey, Tyler Maxey, Zack Rodgers, and Clint Swanson (:47.6).

– In girls track, top performances for the week included: Bre Ricketts in the long jump (14’2″); Andrea Brogan in the 100-meter dash (:13.46) and the 200-meter dash (:29.1); Robin Furnish in the 1,600-meter run (6:07.4); Paige Ridener in the 3,200-meter run (13:46); and the 3,200-meter relay team of Bre Hinman, Allie Mathews, Robin Furnish, and Paige Ridener (11:21); and the 400-meter relay team of Bre Ricketts, Brooke Dickerson, Andrea Brogan, and Alexis Carfield (:56.2).

For her efforts, Andrea Brogan was named as the “Performer of the Week”.
