The Ohio River Valley Conference has announced its “Top Performers” and “Players of the Week” for the time period of April 18th-23rd, and several Switzerland County players have been honored.
– In baseball, Pacer Collin Burgess was honored as the “Player of the Week” for going 3-for-5 with three RBI, scoring two runs, and collecting two doubles against Southwestern.
He shared the “Player of the Week” honors with Tyler Jones of Rising Sun.
Pacers honored as “Top Performers” included Celby Kinney, and Josh Yeary.
Celby Kinney was honored for going 3-for-4 at the plate and accounting for four RBI while picking up the win on the mound versus Southwestern.
Josh Yeary was honored for going 3-for-6 at the plate including a double and scoring three runs versus Southwestern.
Other conference players honored included: Jason Dilk of South Ripley; Jake Willhite, Josh Uhlmansiek, and Nathan Hannan of Rising Sun; and Alex Schoettmer and Duncan Wolff of Jac-Cen-Del.
- In boys track, top performances in events for the week included: Quinn Meyer in the long jump (17’8″).
– In girls track, to performances for the week included: Bre Ricketts in the long jump (14’3″); Robin Furnish in the 1,600-meter run (6:16); Allie Mathews in the 3,200-meter run (14:24); the 400-meter relay team; and the 3,200-meter relay team.
