Pacer golfers pick up three-way win

The Switzerland County varsity golf team won a three-way match with Southwestern and Rising Sun last Wednesday at Vineyard.

The Pacers finished with a team score of 174; while Southwestern fired a 184; and Rising Sun did not have enough golfers to record a team score.

Individually, Tanner Ross led the way with a 41; followed by Walter Barnes with a 42; and Corey McFarland and Jeff Mullins each finished with a 44.

Alec McAlpine had a 47; Keegan Kincaid had a 51; and Zack Daugherty finished with a 52.

Senior Alec McAlpine shot a nine-hole score of 39 on Monday to lead the team, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Madison Cubs, who won the three-way event by just five strokes.

Madison finished with a team score of 169, followed by Switzerland County with 174. Jac-Cen-Del participated, but did not have enough golfers to record a team score.

Along with Alec McAlpine, Switzerland County saw Walter Barnes shoot a 44; Tanner Ross shoot a 45; Zack Daugherty fire a 46; Jeff Mullins have a 48; Keegan Kincaid have a 49; Corey McFarland finished with a 50; and Alex Curran had a 54.
